A Vision for Their Future
There is no question that today’s Warfighters face a myriad of obstacles as they return to civilian life. With the staggering statistic of 22 Veteran deaths per day, it is no secret that our men and women are struggling. Complicated VA benefits programs, isolation, an unfamiliar economic environment, and for many, untreated and sometimes even undiagnosed medical issues, to name just a few, have left many with a feeling of helplessness and sadly, hopelessness. Inside the Wire Foundation’s vision is to create a Resource and Wellness Center that offers a centralized location for information and services for our transitioning Veterans and gives them a safe and comfortable place – Inside the Wire.
The Resource & Wellness Center
For some, the Resource & Wellness Center will be a place to participate in workshops, create and print a resume, research job opportunities, maybe even attend an art therapy or yoga class. For others, it may be the place where they can receive advice or just a kind word or two. For all, it will be the place where our clients can gain strength and receive encouragement by sharing experiences with each other.
Our plan is to purchase an existing facility in the Orange County area that will become the first Inside the Wire facility in America. The facility will include classrooms, a resource library, computer room, conference room, activity room and designated puppy/training area where our clients will be able to work with service dogs in-training throughout the day. Office and board space will be included to meet the needs of volunteers and staff and all areas will be ADA compliant.
To fund the ITWF Resource & Wellness Center, ITWF Board of Directors and Staff have launched a $1.5 million capital campaign entitled "Inside the Wire Center: Prepare, Educate & Empower." The goal includes all costs associated with the project. The official launching of this campaign will occur in September. Commemorative naming opportunities will be available for those who wish to name a particular room in the Center. (List of rooms to be made available at a future date)
We hope we have left you with a better understanding of the work we do to help transitioning Veterans in need - Veterans who have served selflessly and who now need assistance moving back into the civilian way of life.
Please help us create a comfortable environment for our veterans to become prepared, educated and empowered. Please help us help us help those who protected our freedoms.
Thank you for opening your heart and financially supporting this project. Together we can create Inside the Wire.
