Volunteer to help America’s Warfighters
Inside the Wire Foundation works to address the root causes behind many of the problems facing today’s Veterans. We believe by giving our Warfighters the tools and support early-on, their chances of successful transitions will increase. Our 7-month structured program allows our clients to be engaged and empowered in a supportive and collaborative environment. As a volunteer, you will be able to contribute your time and passion in helping our clients acclimate to the civilian culture and participate in the workshops and/or events. Please consider volunteering at Inside the Wire Foundation in any of the following capacities:
Monthly Workshops for Clients (monthly, 3 hour Commitment)
Volunteers will provide each participant with the tools and knowledge necessary to become prepared, engaged and empowered. Volunteer opportunities include assisting with materials, assisting facilitators, dinner distribution and follow-up.
Mentoring Program – Individual Mentors
A critical component of our program is our Mentors. The Inside the Wire Foundation programs provide clients with individualized mentorship during the critical transition period. Mentors are asked to work one-on-one with our clients at workshops and to assist them throughout their transition process. It is our goal that through one-on-one interaction with our clients, mentors will be able to build trust and lasting relationships and to guide our clients as they navigate the civilian world.
Mentoring Program – Subject Matter Instructors & Mentors
Inside the Wire Foundation focuses on five major components of transition: housing, employment, medical & financial well-being, mental & physical well-being and education. Volunteers will provide their subject matter expertise during our monthly workshop and will be able to contribute to a client on an individual basis as their time permits. It is our goal that our clients will receive necessary, relevant and timely information in one location and within the context of the “bigger picture” thus alleviating stress and frustration.
Inside the Wire Foundation Family Fair – Annual Event (May 2017)
This free event for participating clients and their families provides a fun forum for interaction among our program participants and their families complete with food and fun. Volunteer opportunities include registration, day of event set-up, activity facilitators, food prep and handling, and clean-up.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
As Inside the Wire Foundation grows, we will have many volunteer opportunities in areas such as helping with fundraising events, general administrative work, grant applications and marketing. We will post these opportunities in the months to come, but in the meantime, if you have a service or skill you would like to offer, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
